The Quai des Délices on the Palais Rohan terrace is Strasbourg's food and wine market, and it suits anyone who came for vin chaud and Bredle more than ornaments. It sits right behind the cathedral, so the evening crowd spills over from there. It opens with the rest of Strasbourg on Friday 27 November 2026 (confirmed), and the 24 December close is projected.

Access and crowds
- Toilets
- Free public toilets sit across the Grande Île, several of them accessible, and the free Ici Toilettes app maps them.
- Getting around
- The info chalet on Place Kléber lends wheelchairs and walkers free of charge against an ID document. In 2025 it lent them between 11:30 and 18:30.
- Busiest
- Friday evenings and weekends are the densest, and the city's own advice adds Wednesday afternoons.
- Quieter
- Mondays and Tuesdays are calmest, and so is any morning soon after the 11:30 opening.
The terrace of the Palais Rohan belongs to winegrowers this season. The Tribu des Gourmets runs a chalet of barrels and timber where the vin chaud is made with Alsace white wine. Next door the bakers' federation of the Bas-Rhin bakes Bredle in a temporary bakehouse, and Place du Marché-aux-Poissons carries on with savoury food and beer.
Look across the Ill from the terrace after dark. The city strings around 400 stars along the quays between the Pont du Corbeau and the Pont Saint-Guillaume, and they read best from this side of the water.
Worth knowing
- Order the white-wine vin chaud from the Tribu des Gourmets chalet, then cross to the bakers for a bag of Bredle.
