The Marché OFF on Place Grimmeissen is Strasbourg's alternative market for ethical gifts, vintage finds and organic food, and it suits repeat visitors and anyone tired of the main squares. It is small and sits at the far edge of Petite France, so it takes a short detour. It opens with the rest of Strasbourg on Friday 27 November 2026 (confirmed), and the 24 December close is projected.

Access and crowds
- Toilets
- Free public toilets sit across the Grande Île, several of them accessible, and the free Ici Toilettes app maps them.
- Getting around
- The Safe Zone lends noise-cancelling headphones, blankets and stress balls to visitors with disabilities, and a parents' space with a changing table is free on request. The Place Kléber info chalet lends wheelchairs and walkers against an ID document.
- Busiest
- Friday evenings and weekends are the densest, and the city's own advice adds Wednesday afternoons.
- Quieter
- Mondays and Tuesdays are calmest, and so is any morning soon after the 11:30 opening.
The city started the Marché OFF in 2015 for social and solidarity economy groups, and the 2025 edition marked its tenth year. Containers and geodesic domes hold vintage furniture, customised clothes, second-hand toys, books and organic food. Upcycling workshops run through the season.
Visitors who need calm are looked after here. The Safe Zone lends sensory kit to people with disabilities, and a parents' space has a microwave, a changing table and a comfortable chair. Both are free on request.
Worth knowing
- Come on a Tuesday evening for the music aperitif with local labels and Alsace producers, from 18:00 to 20:00.
