- The Frauenkirche next to the market has a lift at door A and a disabled toilet, according to the foundation that runs it.
The square in front of the Frauenkirche holds two neighbouring markets. Advent on the Neumarkt dresses the stalls and traders in the style of the Neumarkt around 1900, and its program leans on the crafts once practised in the streets here: bell casting, sign painting, bag making, engraving, clock repair and chocolate making. The food sticks to Dresden's Christmas classics.
Beside it on the Münzgasse, the smaller Weihnachtsmarkt an der Frauenkirche sells lace from the Vogtland, and potters and glassmakers trade around an eight-metre walk-in pyramid with hand-carved figures. Santa Claus comes by every day from 16:00. Both sit a few minutes' walk from the Striezelmarkt on the Altmarkt, so they fit into one evening with it.
The Neumarkt reopens after Christmas, from 27 to 30 December, again on New Year's Eve and for the first weekend of January. That makes it one of the few Dresden markets you can still shop between the holidays.
