Cross the Augustus Bridge from the old town and the Augustusmarkt starts at the gilded equestrian statue of Augustus the Strong. Its stalls run along the pedestrian Hauptstraße of the Innere Neustadt as far as the Gomondai-Platz. The organizer mixes Saxon craft traders with stallholders from other countries who sell their own Christmas food and drink.
Dresden's tourism board lists glögg, pandoro, Belgian pralines and Alsatian Christmas biscuits among the stalls, along with Dijon mustard and spices. The Dreikönigskirche on the same street holds concerts in Advent, and the galleries and shops of the Barockviertel sit a block away.
The market reopens on 27 December after its Christmas break and stays open late into New Year's Eve. If you're in Dresden between the holidays, it's one of the few markets still trading.

- Walk over the Augustus Bridge from the Schlossplatz to reach the Goldener Reiter end of the market.
- On New Year's Eve the stalls stay open until 02:00, so you can stay on after midnight.
