The Innsbruck Maria-Theresien-Strasse Christmas Market lines the city's main shopping street with 30 stalls and modern light design and suits travellers who arrive after Christmas, since it stays open to Epiphany, though it has less old-town charm than the market by the Golden Roof. In 2026 it runs from 25 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, daily 11:00–21:00, with Christmas Eve 11:00–15:00 and New Year's Eve 11:00–19:00, and the organizer has confirmed the dates.

Access and crowds
- Getting around
- The organizer publishes no access details. Maria-Theresien-Straße is a wide pedestrian street, the easiest of the city-centre markets to move along with a wheelchair or pram.
- Busiest
- Saturdays, since this is Innsbruck's main shopping street, and the evening of 20 December when the Christkind procession starts here.
- Quieter
- The days between Christmas and Epiphany, when the Old Town and Marktplatz markets have closed and the shopping crowd thins out.
This is the late-starting, late-finishing market. It opens on 25 November, almost two weeks after the Old Town, and keeps going until 6 January when the others have packed up. The organizer pitches it as the modern market, with crystal and light design along an avenue of trees and stalls that sell international gifts beside the hot chocolate.
Maria-Theresien-Straße is Innsbruck's main shopping street and runs straight into the Old Town, so the market works well for an afternoon that mixes Christmas shopping with a mug of punch. Walk north along it and you reach the Old Town market in a few minutes.
Two dates draw crowds. On 7 December at 18:00 Perchten walk through the market, and on 20 December at 17:00 more than 400 children dressed as shepherds and angels walk with live sheep behind the Christkind's carriage, which leaves from here and heads for the Landestheater.
Worth knowing
- Come here between 25 December and 6 January, when it is the city-centre market still trading.
- On 24 December the stalls close at 15:00, so plan any last-minute shopping for the morning.
