Christmas Village Amsterdam

Amsterdam celebrates December with canal lights and Sinterklaas more than with markets, and the Museumplein market is the one iAmsterdam lists first. It sets up in the open space between the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk, with chalets for winter food, hot drinks, art and gifts. That makes it easy to slot into a museum day. Trams 2, 3 and 5 stop at Museumplein, and there is a paid Q-Park under the square if you come by car.

The organizer calls 2026 its tenth edition. The Christmas Day and Boxing Day openings are the useful detail for anyone in the city over the holiday, when much else is quiet.
