Seiffen calls itself the toy village, and its craft workshops have passed their fine woodwork down through several generations. In Advent more than 40 stalls line the streets of the village centre, and the village's craft shops trade alongside them. You can visit the makers in their workshops as well as at the stalls.
The village marks Advent with processions. A small miners' parade opens the market at 09:30 on Saturday 28 November 2026, and a procession of lights follows the old mining paths on the evening of 5 December. The Große Bergparade on 12 December brings more than 400 people in miners' dress. On 19 December Santa leads the children's lantern procession.
Seiffen sits high in the Erzgebirge on the Czech border, and the village publishes its own directions for the Christmas market. Plan the trip home before you set out on a short winter day.
