The market spreads over Place de la Réunion, around the Temple Saint-Étienne and onto Place des Cordiers, and most of its 90 or so chalets belong to local makers. Each year the market dresses itself in a new étoffe. The fabric is designed for the occasion to recall the city's textile industry, and you see it on the chalets and in the streets. The tourism office names the 2026 design Jardin d'Hiver.
Come hungry. Stalls serve tarte flambée, choucroute with knepfla, the little Alsatian dumplings, and carpe-frites, fried carp. The Musée de l'Impression sur Étoffes, the textile printing museum, makes a good pairing on a cold afternoon.
