Ljubljana's festive fair suits a couple on a slow weekend who want riverside stalls under lights that Visit Ljubljana counts among the most imaginative in this part of Europe. The wooden huts spread along the Ljubljanica in small groups, so the evening becomes a walk by the river with stops on the way. The fair runs from 27 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 and opens with the switch-on of the lights.

The gift huts line Breg, the embankment below the old town, and in 2025 there were 25 of them there with three more on Gallusovo nabrežje. Turizem Ljubljana gives first pick to Slovenian products and to handmade work that has won craft or design awards. Food huts stand on several squares, and each one must serve at least one dish from the Okusi Ljubljane (Tastes of Ljubljana) list.
The lights are half the reason to come. In 2024 the city spent €265,000 on decorations and lighting, and the main tree on Prešernov trg stood 21 metres tall. The city restored some of Zmago Modic's older Cosmic Ljubljana pieces and hung them again among the new designs.
Ljubljana keeps the fair green. Vendors use paper, card, wood or compostable packaging, and the city asks stallholders to give up plastic bags.
