Český Krumlov's market suits couples and families who want a small-town Advent under a castle, with a programme on every weekend. The trade-off is size and short hours. The stalls fill one square and close at 18:00 on weekdays, so it is a stop of an evening or two. The 2026 run goes from 21 November to 3 January 2027.

The market stands on náměstí Svornosti in the old town, and the castle tower rises above the rooftops behind it. The town and its cultural partners run a full Advent around it. Bands play on Friday and Saturday afternoons, and Sundays go to families, with Ježíškova pošta (letters to the Christ Child) and carols from local children's groups.
The tree goes up on the first Sunday of Advent, 29 November 2026, with the official opening at 16:30. Mikuláš comes to the square on 5 December at 17:00 with the devil and the angel, and on 11 December an angel procession winds from Klášterní dvůr through Latrán to the steps of St Vitus Church. The Three Kings close the market on 6 January 2027 at 16:30, three days after the last stall day.
The square stays busy after Christmas as well. Music plays from 27 to 30 December and on 2 January, and a New Year's Eve party with a DJ runs on the square from 20:00 to 01:30. A ticketed light park in the brewery garden at Port 1560 runs alongside the market for most of the season.
Worth knowing
- Weekday stalls close at 18:00. Come on a Friday or Saturday if you want the music and an extra hour.
- The town's programme for 2026 is a preliminary outline, and the detailed version is due in October. Check ckrumlov.info before you book around a single event.
- On 4 December a Krampuslauf runs in the Port 1560 courtyard from 18:00 to 22:00. Young children can find the masks frightening, so decide in advance whether to take them.
