- Toilets stand in the Ehrenhof next to the straw maze, with an accessible cubicle. More toilets, including accessible ones, are in the visitor centre to the left of the main gate and in the palace entrance hall. One accessible toilet inside the market opens with a key from the information desk.

- The operator calls the market fully accessible. Three accessible parking spaces sit on the forecourt at the main gate, and assistance dogs are welcome.
More than 90 huts fill the Ehrenhof, which is the big courtyard in front of the palace. Children get rides, a straw maze, craft workshops and a kids' punch mug. Adults get Punsch from several stalls and a Uhudler Glühwein at the Knödl Küche hut.
The ice comes in two forms. There's open skating with rental skates, and there are Eisstockbahnen, lanes for Austrian curling, which you have to book and pay for online in advance. School groups skate free until 14:00 when they register first.
After 24 December most of the city's markets have gone, and Schönbrunn keeps going at 10:00 to 19:00 through New Year to 6 January. That makes it the obvious market for a family that arrives on Boxing Day.
Worth knowing
- Take the U4 to Schönbrunn, or to Hietzing and walk in through the Engelstor. Trams 10 and 60 and bus 10A stop at Schloss Schönbrunn.
- Leave bikes and scooters outside, since neither is allowed on the palace grounds. Park them before the main gate or at the Meidlinger Tor.
- Book a curling lane online before you go. The operator says bookings can't be cancelled.
