chocolART suits food lovers and families with a sweet tooth, with around 90 chocolate makers in Tübingen's old town for six days in early December. The trade-off is that it is a chocolate fair with Christmas around it, so come for the tastings and skip it if you want carols and crafts.

Tübingen Erleben, the town's event company, runs chocolART as an open-air festival through the old town, with makers from Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and further afield. In 2025 about 90 chocolatiers and small manufacturers took part. The programme around the stalls changes each year and has included guided tastings, a children's strand and a competition for apprentice confectioners.
The 2026 festival runs from Tuesday 1 to Sunday 6 December, the week before Tübingen's own Christmas market. The organizer sells a golden chocolART ticket and other extras through its site, and the full programme for the year goes up there before the opening. Saturday is the long day, open until 22:00.
Worth knowing
- Check the programme on the organizer's site as soon as it appears if you want a tasting slot.
- Come by train, because parking in the old town is tight and the organizer points drivers to the city's multi-storey car parks.
