Ribeauvillé calls itself the town of minstrels and leans on that history for a medieval Christmas market. Performers play beggars, peasants and dancers in the streets, and the food runs to spit-roasted wild boar with cervoise or wine. The stalls also sell Advent wreaths, handmade nativity scenes and candles.
It opens on two weekends only, so plan the trip around those four days. The Perles de Noël park-and-ride at the Cordon-Schmidt car park in Bergheim costs €10 per car with the shuttle included, and the Christmas shuttles from Colmar stop here too.
