Every year this market opens Prague's Advent season, and 2026 keeps the habit with a start on 20 November. A row of stalls sets up in front of the neo-Gothic Church of St Ludmila on the Vinohrady side of the city. Prague City Tourism lists ceramic nativity scenes, wooden toys, sheep's wool goods and art jewellery alongside the usual decorations.
People who live in Prague come here as much as visitors do, and the prices show it. Seznam Zprávy reported in December 2025 that svařák had cost 80 CZK here the year before, against 100 CZK on Old Town Square. The metro stops right under the square, so it fits easily around an evening in Vinohrady's bars and restaurants.
