Tollwood takes over the Oktoberfest meadow every Advent with around 200 exhibitors in the Markt der Ideen, which sells crafts and fair-trade goods. More than 50 stands serve certified organic food, so this is where to eat dinner on a market night. The Grand Chapiteau runs ticketed circus shows, and most of the rest of the stage programme is free.
Take the U4 or U5 to Theresienwiese. On weekdays the gates open at 14:00, and Tuesday to Saturday you can stay until 23:30, which makes Tollwood the late option after the city markets close at 21:00.
