Touristik Service Dinkelsbühl runs the market in the Spitalhof, the inner courtyard of the old Heilig-Geist-Spital. The 2026 run is confirmed from Monday 23 November to Tuesday 22 December. Stalls open at 13:00 on weekdays and at 11:00 on Saturday and Sunday, and they close at 20:00. That makes a weekend the best bet if you're coming in from Rothenburg or Nuremberg for the day.
The town gives the market a motto, Ihr Kinderlein kommet, after the carol whose words were written by Christoph von Schmid, a former son of Dinkelsbühl. Inside the hospital buildings a craft bazaar sells handmade pieces from local makers. Walk on to the Münster St. Georg for the crib, which covers nearly 60 square metres. Dinkelsbühl has no railway station of its own. The nearest is Crailsheim, 22 km away. Buses also run in from Dombühl at 25 km and Ansbach at 42 km, as well as from Ellwangen and Nördlingen.
