The Zauner family has hosted guests on Hallstatt's Marktplatz for more than 130 years, and the inn is still where the local marksmen and the costume society meet. Its 12 rooms look at either the lake or the mountains and are furnished in Swiss stone pine made by a local joiner. The restaurant is known in the village for Salzkammergut fish such as grilled Reinanke (lake whitefish), and for game from the Dachstein. Breakfast can be taken in the breakfast room or out in the small garden on the square.
