Wilder Mann suits travellers who want to sleep on the Markt itself, where the Annaberg Christmas market stands, and three of its junior suites look straight onto the square. The hotel stopped serving breakfast on 19 January 2026 because of a long-term staff shortage and cut its room rates to match.
Highlights
- Three junior suites look onto the market square
- The hotel stands on the Markt where the Christmas market is held
- The foyer keeps an old cell vault
The Wilder Mann is one of the oldest former townhouses in Annaberg-Buchholz, and the foyer keeps a cell vault that survives complete. It has 69 rooms: 62 singles and doubles, three junior suites of about 27 square metres with a view of the market square, and four studios in the building next door that sleep up to four. Reception is open 24 hours and a lift serves the house.
Since the hotel dropped breakfast, it points guests to the bakeries and cafés around the square. Its own Ratskeller Zum Neinerlaa sits 80 metres away in the historic town hall and serves Erzgebirge dishes. The hotel's packages include a voucher there for Neinerlaa, the Ore Mountains' traditional Christmas Eve meal.
