Couples on a special trip can wake up to the Old Town skyline across the Salzach here. You cross the river by footbridge to reach the Domplatz market, and the hotel publishes no room rates.
Highlights
- Rooms with views over the Salzach to the Old Town and fortress
- A Christmas tree set up in your room on request
The house opened in 1866 as the Österreichischer Hof and took the Sacher name in 2000. Many of its 110 rooms and suites look over the Salzach to the Old Town or Hohensalzburg Fortress. The Mirabellplatz market is closest on this side of the river, and the Christkindlmarkt on Domplatz and Residenzplatz sits a short walk over the Makartsteg. Breakfast is a buffet from 07:00 to 10:30, and Café Sacher Salzburg and the Zirbelzimmer restaurant cover the rest of the day.
For Christmas the hotel will set up a tree in your room or suite if you ask when booking. Valet parking costs €55 a day, so most visitors do better arriving by train.
