The Fregehaus sits on Katharinenstraße in the middle of the old town, 50 metres from the Museum der bildenden Künste, with the Markt S-Bahn station at the door. You go through the gate into a green courtyard from the 16th century to reach 17 doubles and three apartments. The architect who runs the house, Sabine Fuchshuber, furnished each room herself, with stucco ceilings, old floorboards and pieces from flea markets and antique shops.
Reception and the historic salon where breakfast is served are on the second floor. Breakfast runs from 07:30 to 10:30 with regional produce. Rooms have no safe or minibar, and lockers wait at reception. The hotel puts the main station about 650 metres away.
