St. Lorenz anchors the southern half of the old town, a short walk up Königstraße from the station and down from the Hauptmarkt. A few of the Christkindlesmarkt's stalls stand beside it on the Lorenzer Platz. Visiting runs from 09:00 to 17:30 on weekdays and Saturdays and in a short window on Sunday afternoon.
On Christmas Eve the parish keeps a full evening. In 2025 there was a service at 15:00, the Christvesper at 17:00 and a Christmette at 23:00, and the city's Christmas Eve page lists the 2026 times once the churches send them. The parish's own nickname for the church is the Kühlschrank Gottes, God's fridge, so bring a scarf. Veit Stoß's carved Annunciation, the Engelsgruß, was lowered for cleaning from 29 September to 12 October 2026.
