St. Michael's on the Neuhauser Straße suits visitors who want a free carol sing on the square outside on Wednesdays at 16:30 in Advent 2026; the sing happens outdoors, so dress for the cold.

The Jesuits built St. Michael's on Munich's main shopping street between 1583 and 1597, and people often call it the largest Renaissance church north of the Alps. Its crypt holds Wittelsbach tombs, including that of King Ludwig II. In Advent the Christkindlmarkt's weekly carol sing gathers on the square in front of it.
