Gdansk Christmas Market

Targ Węglowy (the Coal Market) holds the main stage and the largest cluster of huts, and the market carries on along Tkacka Street, into the Great Armoury and around the Katownia. In 2025 the stalls ran for the first time along the whole of Bogusławskiego Street to the park on Zbytki Street, with a Shakespeare corner by the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre. A talking elk called Łoś Lucek stands by the Katownia and tells bad jokes to passers-by.

Food came from 22 cuisines in 2025, and the city's round-up named Canadian waffles and spit-roast pork among the hits. On the craft side, amber jewellery and handmade baubles sold best, along with hats and blankets from local alpaca wool. Look for Kashubian ruchanki (small yeast pancakes) if you want something from the regional kitchen.

Families get a carousel and a Santa who spent close to 105 hours meeting children in 2025. The stage held more than 50 concerts, shows and parades that season, all with a sign-language interpreter.
