Zurich's Christmas lights suit anyone walking from the station to the lake in the evening, and their trade-off is the crowd on Bahnhofstrasse at the switch-on. Lucy, the crystal lighting over Bahnhofstrasse, switches on at 18:00 on Thursday 19 November 2026 with the rest of the city's lights, which Zürich Tourism says stay up until 4 January 2027.

Lucy is named after the Beatles song, and its 11,550 light crystals hang over about a kilometre of Bahnhofstrasse, by Zürich Tourism's count; the ZVV puts the figure at almost 12,000. The switch-on falls on the second-to-last Thursday of November and doubles as Zurich's late-night shopping evening. Since 2023 a walk-in crystal called A Touch of Lucy has stood on the Züghusplatz through Advent.
Turn off the main street to see the rest. Rennweg's lights look like falling snow, and Löwenplatz has stars made from recycled PET bottles; up in the old town the Neumarkt lanes carry their own strings.
