Hundreds of lights pick out the plant collections after dark, and light objects with sound and video installations line the route. Entry starts at 16:00 and the last visitors go in at 20:00. The garden closes on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Tickets are capped per evening and go on sale through Frankfurt Ticket, with any left over sold at the gate at a higher price.
Worth knowing
- Use the Palmengartenstraße gate near Bockenheimer Warte, where the garden's own FAQ says waits are usually shorter.
- Come by U-Bahn: U4 to Bockenheimer Warte or U7 to Westend/Palmengarten. Parking is scarce and Siesmayerstraße jams.
- During the season the garden closes to day visitors at 14:00 and lets the evening crowd in from 16:00.
