DB sells the pass as a Flexi pass with 3, 4, 5, 7, 10 or 15 travel days that you pick freely within one month. It covers DB trains across Germany, ICE included, and DB says it also covers some routes in Italy, Belgium and Austria. Two adults travelling together can share a Twin Pass, which costs less than two single passes, and DB now issues the Twin Pass as a mobile pass too.
The pass leaves seat reservations out of the price. On the ICE they are optional, and Interrail recommends one on busy DB trains, which Advent weekends tend to fill. DB also asks for a pass surcharge on top of the reservation on some routes, such as the ICE and TGV trains to France.
