The International Advent Singing brings dozens of choirs (83 in 2025) to the Festsaal of Vienna City Hall on the four Advent weekends, Friday to Sunday from 15:30 to 19:00, and it suits anyone at the Rathausplatz market who wants a warm seat and free choral music. Entry is free with no tickets, and the 2026 programme comes out in November.
Step off the Rathausplatz market and into the City Hall's grand Festsaal for Advent and Christmas songs from Austria and abroad. In 2025 more than 2,600 singers from 83 choirs took part, and the 2026 edition is the 44th. A café in the hall sells coffee and cake.
Entry is free and there are no tickets or reservations, so you walk straight in through the Lichtenfelsgasse entrance. The whole event is step-free.
