Date rule: fixed 12-24
On 24 December the market has only a couple of hours left, and at noon the Protestant and Catholic churches hold a short devotion together on the podium in front of the Frauenkirche. The Christkind is a guest. It is worship first, held in German, and anyone standing on the square is welcome to join in or listen quietly.
Through Advent the same podium carries a short Advent word from a church speaker at 17:30 each day, going by the 2025 programme. On the 24th the stalls shut at 14:00, which leaves time for a last Glühwein after the devotion.
Worth knowing
- Stand near the podium in front of the Frauenkirche by 11:50 if you want to hear the readings clearly.
