Skaters of every age get 3,000 square metres of ice right under the Schlossberg, a short walk from the old town. You book a two-hour slot rather than skating all day, and the rink is cash only for rentals.

The Landessportzentrum Steiermark runs the rink at Jahngasse 3, with a winter food and drink area beside it. The 2026/27 season runs from 13 November 2026 to 31 January 2027. Each ticket buys one skating slot: 09:00 to 11:00, 11:30 to 13:30, 14:00 to 16:00 or 17:00 to 19:00, with an extra evening slot from 19:30 to 21:30 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
In 2025/26 adults paid €8.00, young people aged 11 to 16 €6.00, children aged 6 to 10 €5.00, and under-6s went free. Skate hire was €8.00 for adults and €6.00 under 17, paid in cash on site. Friday and Saturday evenings ran as an ice disco with two local radio stations hosting.
